Cause so far Raleigh's done a really good job at making him feel inadequate and has managed to humiliate him in front of the Gamemakers (who will now think he's weak), potential sponsors (who are never going to send anything now that they know he's a goddamn pussy that needs ~rescuing~) and the rest of Panem.
If Chuck wins he wants it on his terms, not because he has a goddamn bodyguard.
